Security and Safety at CWSF 2025

The safety and security of all CWSF participants are our top priority at the University of New Brunswick campus. Here’s what you need to know:

Emergency Procedures

All delegates, Team UV and volunteers will receive an emergency process card in their name tag pouches. For reference:

  • For life-threatening emergencies, call 911 first, then follow the steps below
  • For on-campus emergencies:
    1. Call Campus Security: 506-453-4830
    2. In ProjectZone/STEM Expo: Alert First Aid/Security/Info Booth
    3. Notify Team UV: 416-341-0040
  • For off-campus emergencies:
    1. Notify Team UV: 416-341-0040

Emergency Action Plan

The CWSF Emergency Action Plan provides step-by-step protocols for handling potential emergency situations during the fair, from medical incidents to missing participants. All Team UV members should familiarize themselves with the contact procedures and their role-specific responsibilities outlined in this living document.

Incident Reporting

After any emergency has been addressed:

  • For safety, security or behavioural incidents (including incidents occurring between participants, delegates, volunteers, or Team UV members): Submit an Incident Report
  • For health or medical issues: Complete the Health Issue Documentation form

General Security

  • Campus security operates 24/7 throughout the week
  • The Project Zone will be locked each night, but finalists should not leave valuable or delicate items (laptops, tablets, prototypes, etc.) at their project display overnight
  • Nametags must be worn at all times during the CWSF program—they serve as identification for meals, activities, and security purposes

Share Your Photos/Videos

We’d love to capture the magic of CWSF 2025 through your eyes. Throughout the week, we encourage Team UV members to take photos and videos of the incredible moments they witness. If you’d like to share any of your photos or videos, we’ve set up a simple upload collection where you can choose which files to upload.

Chatrooms

Team UV members are added by default to the Team UV chatroom. There are however, other chatrooms that you might be interested in joining.

If you don’t wish to receive notifications (or email notifications) for every message sent in a chatroom, but you still wish to join and participate in the conversation, after joining, you can click the three dots next to the chatroom name and select “Mute conversation.”
