Quake It Till You Break It: testing various bridge designs in relation to earthquake resistance

I chose 3 types of bridges, the truss, beam, and arch I wanted to determine which is the most earthquake resistant. I specifically chose these three because they are the most common types to see. To test them, I built an earthquake shake table. My hypothesis was that the beam bridge would be the most earthquake resistant. The bridges I tested were made out of a simple yet now hard to find material, plastic straws. All the bridges held strong in the end ( as expected) but one came out on top, the beam bridge! In the end my hypothesis was correct.My topic is important because safety is important, good ''healthy'' earthquake resistant bridges cut back repair costs and allow emergency services to get where they need to go, and help who they need to help.
