Anti-cancer Drug Loaded Metal-polyphenol Nanoparticles for Synergistic Tumor Therapy

We developed a multifunctional nanoparticle (EFeCuTPZ) for cancer treatment. It combines three therapies: producing heat under laser for photothermal therapy, generating •OH through the Fenton-like reaction, and releasing a hypoxia-activated Anti-cancer drug TPZ. EGCG was used as a nanocarrier along with metal ions and the drug. In the acidic tumor environment, the nanoparticle activates these effects to damage cancer cells. Cell analysis confirmed its good stability, low toxicity, and strong ability to reduce cancer cell survival. This shows promising potential for synergistic tumor therapy.
