What Goes Up Must Come Down: Delaying the Effects of Stall

For this project, I designed and built a simple wind tunnel with the intent of measuring lift output of a set aerofoil type at different angles of attack, along with how this output changes with different flow controlling devices, such as two vortex generator designs and three designs of my own dimpled aerofoils. I tested how each design’s lift output changed, along with when the aerofoil stalled and how much stall occurred. Flow controlling devices can help to reduce drag and increase control at higher angles of attack, thus improving fuel efficiency and safety.
